MSc, PhD
Jie Jiang holds a PhD in The Human Microbiome and Metabolism, Bioinformatics and Data Integration. During her doctoral studies, she investigated how the infant gut microbiome develops following cesarean section delivery—pinpointing the ecological and environmental drivers of its restoration, and uncovering the microbial and metabolic pathways that may link cesarean section birth to later asthma susceptibility.
Now continuing as a Postdoc at COPSAC, Jie is exploring new strategies to restore the cesarean section-altered microbiome, with a focus on the gut physicochemical environment and the protective role of breastfeeding.
