Ann-Marie Malby Schoos
Associate professor, MD, PhD, DMSc
Ann-Marie Malby Schoos received her medical degree from the University of Copenhagen in 2008, became a specialist in pediatrics in 2022, and has been Clinical Research Associate Professor at the University of Copenhagen since 2022.
She joined COPSAC in 2009 and completed her PhD in 2015 (“Allergic Sensitization through Childhood”) and her DMSc thesis in 2024 (“Atopic Disease – Mechanisms, Exposures, and Diagnostics”). During her training, she was a visiting scientist with Professor Hugh Sampson at Mount Sinai Hospital, New York (2013–2014), and a visiting Associate Professor at BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver with Professor Edmond Chan (2022–2023), both internationally recognized leaders in food allergy.
Ann-Marie combines clinical work and translational research, and currently holds positions as Senior Consultant Physician in Pediatrics at Hvidovre Hospital and Slagelse Hospital, alongside her role at COPSAC.
Her research focuses on mechanisms, diagnostics, and treatment strategies in pediatric allergic disease, spanning food and inhalant allergy, atopic dermatitis, and hospital-based clinical trials. She has received several awards for her research, including the Fulbright Scholarship (2013), the Birgit and Svend Igor Pock-Steen Award (2016), the Grethe Stampe Award (2017, 2020), and the LEO Foundation’s Dr. Abildgaard fellowship award (2025).
She serves on editorial boards, international committees, and as an editorial member of 2 international journals, Children and Allergies. She has been a board member of the Danish Society of Allergology from 2016-2022.
Ann-Marie is leading the Schoos group at COPSAC and supervises several medical and PhD students.
