MSc, PhD
Ulrika Boulund received her MSc Eng in Bioinformatics and Systems biology from the Technical University of Denmark in 2018. Thereafter, she moved to the Netherlands, where she conducted her PhD under supervision of professor MD Max Nieuwdorp at the experimental vascular medicine department at the Amsterdam University Medical Centers (2019-2023), funded by the European Union Horizon 2020 Marie Curie-Sklodowska innovative training network BestTreat. Her PhD thesis was centered around the relationship between the gut microbiome and cardiometabolic disease in adults.
Ulrika is working as a postdoctoral researcher at COPSAC in the microbiome group. Here, she is analyzing the relationship between childhood asthma, allergy, and eczema, and the gut virome development in early life, based on data from the COPSAC2010 cohort.
