Tamsin Redgwell
BSc, PhD
Tamsin received her BSc in Microbiology from Cardiff University in 2015; During this time, she spent a year at Oregon State University investigating the role of freshwater cyanophages in host bloom collapse. In 2019 she gained her PhD in Marine Microbiology from the University of Warwick where she worked on cyanophage ‘photosynthesis’ genes and their potential role in altering their host’s metabolism. Through her work she has become familiar with multiple sequencing technologies, the analysis of phage genomes, and viral metagenomics.
At COPSAC Tamsin is part of the Microbiome group, specifically investigating the role of viruses in the gut.
