Morten Arendt Rasmussen
Professor, MSc, PhD
Morten Arendt Rasmussen holds a master degree in food science from University of Copenhagen (2007) and a PhD entitled Medicometrics within the area of chemometrics for pharma and medical sciences under the supervision of Prof. Rasmus Bro from University of Copenhagen (2012). Since 2015 Morten have a dual position at Department of food science (university of copenhagen) and COPSAC tying food and nutrition to clinical health in early life, childhood and adolescents.
Mortens research focuses on development- and application of data driven mathematical and statistical methods for the modeling of complex biological systems with a special focus on metabolomics and microbiome. Link to Mortens profile at UCPH FOOD
At COPSAC Morten works on characterizing the metabolic capacity by using meal challenge tests, metabolomics, continuous glucose monitoring, and dietary habits in connection to the host microbiome and genome. This, to understand how the individuals’ health status is related to diet, and to suggest personalized dietary interventions for improving health.
