Leon Eyrich Jessen
MSc, PhD
Leon Eyrich Jessen holds a MSc. degree in biotech engineering from the Technical University of Denmark. Subsequently Leon specialised in bioinformatics and in 2014 he received his PhD in bioinformatics from the Center for Biological Sequence Analysis, Department of Systems Biology, Technical University of Denmark. During his PhD Leon worked extensively on geno-/phenotype correlation on protein level aiming at developing a vaccine against placental malaria. The over all topic of his PhD was non-parametric statistical methodology for biological data analysis. The work involved close collaboration with researchers at University of Copenhagen and Université Paris Descartes. Following his PhD, Leon has worked as a postdoctoral researcher in biostatistics at Steno Diabetes Center.
At COPSAC Leon works with the genetics of pediatric asthma focusing on analysis of high dimensional data integrated with information derived from next-generation-sequencing data.
