Matteo Soverini
MSc, PhD
Matteo received his BSc in Biology and his MSc in Molecular Biotechnology from Bologna University in 2012 and 2014, respectively. Supported by a grant issued by the Ministry of University and Research first and then by a PhD fellowship, he worked on the bioinformatic approaches applied to human microbiome and other complex microbial communities. In April 2020 he was awarded with the PhD in Bioinformatics from the University of Bologna , defending the thesis ‘Holobiomics – Use of microbiomics for the exploration of microbial communities in holobionts’. During his PhD he has been an invited visiting student at the University of Copenhagen, expanding his knowledge to ancient DNA bioinformatics.
Since December 2019 Matteo works in the Genetics Group at COPSAC, with the aiming to combine its microbiomics expertise with human genetics in the context of eczema and other atopic diseases.
